Where do Activision and Red Octane get off?

So they officially announce that they have taken Rock Band’s idea, people either liked the idea or hated it but everyone can agree that they more or less saw it coming. What I don’t think people saw coming was the fact that the official pricing of the game has now been released and its a whole 20 bucks more than rock band was.
I was working at Game Crazy when Rock Band came out and even though I was completely okay with throwing down 170 bucks on Rock Band, I didn’t see a hell of alot of other people that didn’t need a bit of convincing. Even people that were excited for the game were thinking twice at first, so to me, It just seems like a 200 dollar price tag is a massive mistake. Unless they plan on including upwards of 110+ songs in the retail version of the game (which wouldn’t surprise me since those morons can’t seem to figure out how to release more then 2 or 3 songs every 4 months) and fix the ugly interface and poor decisions they made with GH3, then I can’t see anything about any of the periphs that will justify it costing so much more than Rock Band. If they are thinking that the goofy, “make your own song” thing will justify the extra money, then they obviously never played the free flash game FIVE years ago on the Pepsi Underground website that seemed to be just as thorough as what they’ve “created” for these next generation consoles.
Oh well, none of my business. In other news we’re going to be changing the website around here soon and launch an online Webcomic here instead, called Nickel-Arcade.com. The idea came uniquely to me in a dream, Its gonna have 2 smart ass main characters and it’ll use gaming news and industry people in a satirical way that will make gamers laugh….but I’m gonna charge you bastards 2 buck’s into my pay pal everytime you wanna visit and read! I’m not sure if anyone has had this idea already, but it cost less, and I don’t care! (Metaphor duly noted)
