Will the Military Ever Stop?!
Seems as if the military propaganda machine just keeps ticking. First we had America’s Army, you know, that awesome FPS developed to recruit young’ns? Well looks like the Navy is jumping on the bandwagon in it’s latest PR attempt.
Meet Jack Ohara. A third-class petty officer for the U.S. Navy. Jack is real nervous about his first overseas assignment to Japan. Jack Ohara is the main character of the U.S. Navy’s manga, targeted to the Japanese residents that are a bit nervous about CVN-73 USS George Washington’s arrival.
That’s right, the nuclear powered super-carrier will be docking in Yokosuka, Japan to replace the aging USS Kitty Hawk, and it’s got Japan a bit nervous (Hiroshima anyone?) While I completely understand Japans sentiments on not wanting a nuclear powered ship in their docks, I’m still curious as hell on the manga itself. Funny thing is, the CFNJ spokesman, David Waterman stated:
“If the manga is a success, CNFJ may consider a series,”
That’s just wrong. FULL STORY HERE.

Hey, hey! Don’t bad mouth America’s Army. Before Call of Duty 4 came out, it was the best FPS on the ‘Net.

Why would the Japanese be concerned about a nuclear powered super carrier? Because they had nuclear weapons used against them in WWII? ZOMG!!! They must wake up in a cold sweat every night! Nightmares filled with mushroom clouds!
I guess the energy ministry keeps word of Japan’s 55 civilian reactors pretty quiet.
Maybe the presence of several thousand bored, horny sailors is of slightly greater concern, hmm…?
